What is a Design Psychology session?

In short, my Design Psychology consultation is a 40-minute exploration: we’ll discuss your history with space, your early space attachments, and uncover how you relate to environments based on your ingrained preferences, positive associations, and attachment style. If needed, we can first determine your attachment style, your sensory profile, how you recharge/draw energy (introvert vs. extrovert), and brainstorm ways to honor the special objects in your life.

Who is it for?

Anyone! But more specifically, anyone who:

a.) feels stuck in the design process
b.) is unsure how to start defining their personal style
c.) is about to tackle a new design project
d.) is moving and would like their interior to serve as a fresh start
e.) is interested in mental health-based design
f.) is excited about psychology and/or design
g.) works in real estate and wants a leg up in helping clients find their dream home
h.) works in design and is struggling to connect with a client
i. ) wants to try something totally new

In other words, it’s for you. It’s for me. It’s for, literally, everyone.

 What do you get?

This is more than simply a discussion: ideally, it’s a thoughtful dialogue that lends itself to helpful insight that inspires solutions. Like, self-discovery…but with textures, patterns, and all your favorite stuff. Therapy from the couch, about your couch. Here’s what you’ll leave with:

Personalized Design Treatment Plan:

This is similar to a treatment plan you might get from a therapist, and it outlines what you emotionally need from your space, as well as suggestions for how to design using meaningful, personal elements we uncover during your consultation. Your Treatment Plan is essentially a roadmap you can reference as you tackle design-related projects. Use it for your own projects or tailor the principles to fit any of your clients.

Customized Mood Board:

For our more visual learners (hey, that’s me!), the mood board visually illustrates the look and feel of the suggestions from your treatment plan. Consider this your jumping-off point.

And now the fun part- how to book a session:

Email me through the contact page to start the conversation and we’ll chat about what format works best for you. Zoom meeting, phone call, in-person, etc.
